What’s a Divorce Coach?

American Bar Association definition:

Divorce coaching is a flexible, goal-oriented process designed to support, motivate, and guide people going through divorce to help them make the best possible decisions for their future, based on their particular interests, needs, and concerns. Divorce coaches have different professional backgrounds and are selected based on the specific needs of the clients. 

Areas of Assistance

Organization/Preparation: get organized for divorce related decisions, prepare for meetings with financial planners or lawyers, ensuring these meetings are more efficient and cost effective.

Custody: evaluate different custody schedules and parenting plans.

Sounding Board: with unbiased yet educated and experienced ears, I will help you avoid the pitfalls people make in divorce decision making.

Referrals: I can connect you with lawyers, therapists, mediators, financial planners and realtors.

Should I or Shouldn’t I?: I’ll make sure you’re looking at divorce with your eyes wide open as you sort through this challenge.

Support: it’s tempting in the midst of divorce to throw in the towel. I can reduce fear and uncertainty and help you move through divorce with more confidence and less stress. I can also help you work through and manage relationships with family members and friends that have been affected by your divorce.
