About Me

In 1996 armed with degree in Communications I moved to New York City and entered the world of fashion and cosmetics. My focus was marketing and copy writing for Jones Apparel Group and L’Oreal.

Over a decade later I found myself in Philadelphia, divorced and full-time parenting my 2 young kids.

In 2013 I resumed copy writing and started publishing personal essays about divorce. As I shared my experiences readers reached out. Strangers, friends and acquaintances thanked me for putting a voice to divorce and asked for advice.

As a writer I’ve been able to offer comfort and act as a touchstone for those dealing with divorce. The opportunity to use my painful experiences to help others has been an unexpected gift. I decided that with so many already asking me for advice, further educating myself and being certified as a Divorce Coach was a logical next step.

Divorce is a traumatic life experience, and it’s not a one and done event, it’s a lifestyle. A lifestyle that takes adjustment, thought and perseverance. My goal as a Divorce Coach is to help my clients get through the business of divorce so they get to the other side with peace of mind and thrive in their new lives.

Testimonials

“Great advice! I remember saying (while I was going through my divorce) ‘divorce isn't a contagious disease.’ There were many friends who disappeared, gossiped, and judged. I love your perspective and insight, Abby! Thank you!”

“I don't think there's anyone out there that speaks more in alignment to what this is really about, and really like.”

“Very impressive Abby. I applaud you. It is not easy and no one tells you about all the stuff you have to deal with post-divorce.”

“Dear Mrs. King, 'Holding onto family in the post divorce world' (July 13, 2015) helped me to understand that I am not alone in what I would like to happen moving forward from this wicked divorce. Thank you for the words to encourage me and to know I am not alone.”
